my first job

came back on sunday and immediately on monday have to report to work. haih...me now working in my dad's office. technically, it belongs to my dad. but it's actually run by another person.

and i got one news for u all...all the staffs are malay. one malay guy who's the boss and there are 4 female staffs. so i'm the only chinese there. haih....they put me in front of the computer so i guess i'm working as data entry clerk. big mistake...thanks to last year's comp science subject, i can type pretty fast (it's true but not as fast as some la. to me it's fast cos i used to type with 2 fingers only one, k)

on my first day, i spent half the time playing freecell. they game me a stack of forms for me to enter the data into the computer and i think i finished it quite fast. one of the staffs commented that i pick things up quickly. haih...typing only ma...wat's so hard about it?

then today, they taught me how to process the forms and how to calculate payment. quite complicated la...but still managed to understand a little bit. tmr, the boss going to give me 2 sets of forms to see if i can differenciate which one is real and which one is fake. cos there's ppl who fake the forms.

to those who don't understand wat i'm talking about or wat is my father's business, i'm sorry. it's very hard to explain in typing cos its very complicated.

i need to work till the end of january. hope i can survive...

the difference between life in kl and malacca

i think i've been too much exposed to kl that i'm starting to miss it. especially the life there. it's not so hectic to me. funny right? it's just that i can do anything i wan at anytime of the day in kl but when i come back home, i'm always rushing to get something done.

and the price of food also. one cup of 'kopi peng' costs RM 1.40 i think at the corner shop near college. when i ordered and paid for one at the coffeeshop near my dad's office when i went for lunch, the guy say "one dollar". i nearly said, "so cheap ar?" hehe...just like a singaporean. last week, i think i only used half the amount that i used to use in kl in a week for lunch.

work is kinda nice except that they have nothing to do most of the time. only really worked for bout 3 1/2 hours. the rest of the time is spent playing computer games. but luckily starting from today, i will get much work. (i think i must be crazy to be happy when given work) i'm helping to do the estimated profit for the income tax thing. very complicated concept...

happy birthday to me!

hehe...actually it's a belated birthday. i celebrated my 19th b'day on christmas eve with my family. no friends at all to celebrate with. haih...but i did enjoy myself that day. it was also the first time that i celebrated with my grandma. she enjoyed herself too.

my dad booked a room in a chinese restaurant that has karaoke. so can eat and sing at the same time. hehe...very fun. but i lost my voice even before singing cos we were shouting to talk to each other above the loud music.

in the morning, my dad's business partner organized a mini party in the office to celebrate my b'day. it was my first time celebrating with unknown ppl. hehe...quite 'pai seh' actually to have them sing happy birthday song to me.

i got featured in a newspaper the next day too. malay mail had a street poll and my dad knows one of its reporters. he came and asked our opinion about the implementation of having all polices even those who are off duty to be given the right to give out summons to motorists. hehe...i just simply say something and the newspaper ended up writing this..."Malpractices and corruption are inevitable if such a mandate is given to all cops other than the traffic policeman".

i dun even know wat's the meaning of inevitable. i really thank the person who wrote the article for making me sound so clever cos all i said was that it may lead to abuse and corruption. maybe i should read the dictionary.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY RAE!!!!! sorry ar...i forgot to wish u on the day itself.

went out with 4 of my closest frens in malacca the other day. ate buffet in equitorial hotel and i think all the ppl there were giving our table looks because of the laughter we generate. had fun talking bout the past that we had together during secondary school and also get to catch up on each other's lives.

it was a moment that i appreciate very much cos i din really get to see them after form 5. everyone went their own separate ways to further our studies. 3 went to kl and 2 stayed in malacca. even though those in malacca only stayed bout 10 minutes apart, they din really have the chance to meet cos of the school's workload.

din really have the chance to update these few weeks cos no time. i work till 5.30 everyday and by the time i want to use the computer, my sister is already using to online or my dad is playing pinball on the computer. haih....have chance today cos my youngest sis went to china today for holiday while my second sis is playing playstation. i can seriously say that this is my first time using the comp in a week.
