back to studying....
i haven't been blogging for quite some time now (ok la...for a very long time). but i do have reason for it u noe. first...i was quite busy with work and then...i got too lazy. i wanted to blog since last week but then thanks to the sucky hostel connection, i couldn't.
there's actually nothing for me to say. 3 months break really went by quickly. one minute i'm holidaying and the next is back to uni. haih...luckily i still have some friends here as rae and shi hui already went to australia.
it was kinda sad to see them leave cos i've been close with them since mufy days. i really miss the days where i can call rae and ask her anything (either to be my driver or to have lunch together...hehe) and also to call shi hui to ask for help in tutorials and assignments. but luckily, i got to spent a couple of days with rae before she left.
the scene at the airport was also quite a sight. who says that the economy is bad? the plane that was leaving for melbourne that day probably carried about 60% students. cameras were clicking away especially our group. i think there were bout 5 cameras taking pictures at a particular time.
oh ya...went to china during chinese new year. it was actually a trip for my grandmother cos my dad wanted to bring her to see her ancestor home. so the whole family packed to go to xiamen, china...my kampung halaman. the whole 8 days trip is to visit my paternal grandpa and grandma's kampung, my maternal grandpa's kampung and to SHOP.
the kampung trip was quite nice. i actually liked my ancestor kampung (it's not like the malaysia kampung). my paternal's grandpa's ancestor home is located by the sea cos their income comes from catching oyster, so it's kinda cooling (actually very cold la, cos it's winter time). half the kampung came out to welcome us (just like celebrities). they also have all this lorong kecil to walk and it was kinda nice. i wouldn't mind staying there a few days.
going to visit them was an eye opener and also to thank my great-great grandfater for coming to malaysia. i count myself very lucky and fortunate to be living in malaysia. compared to them, we are very lucky indeed.
some are going to call me crazy but i didn't really buy much in china. though there are lots of cheap stuff (china ma...) there but the only things i bought were some souvenirs and lots and lots of CDs. i think me and my sisters bought a total of 30 CDs. well, we can't be blamed cos the CDs there are like RMB12. so it's like RM6. though some may say that they are probably pirated (i bought them in a CD shop...something like music valley) but who cares rite? they do look original to me though they're not really the same as those u buy in malaysia.
i think that it was a kinda good idea to go during chinese new year as we could experience how they celebrate cny in china. contrary to the big fuss during the 1st day of cny here, it was quite low key there. life still go on as usual except the temples are crowded. my grandma was a vegeterian that day, so all of us went to the temple to eat vegeterian food (my first time in my 19 years of life). and ppl actually had to lineup to go into the temple. all of not most of them went to the pray to their ancestors which i think is rarely seen in malaysia. luckily (i've been saying this word many times, haven't i?)my grandma was in a wheelchair so we kinda went through the side gate.
and may i say that the lion dance is malaysia is definately better and nicer than those in china. if u have a lion dance performance here, it would probably arrive in a lorry with lots of ppl. but there, it arrived in a van with only bout 7 ppl.
so that was my holiday....now it's back to the books. i only have classes 3 days a week, so this sem will be kinda free for me. bad news is that i have 2 lectures with my ex. i was avoiding him the whole of last sem and now i have 2 lectures with him...haih. worse is that all his friends are with him too...now i have to face the whole bunch...
besides that, life here is kinda ok. i'm sharing room this sem (been having single room for the past 2 years) but it's a new experience for me. luckily, my housemate is a korean music fan too...so i have company now...:p
